A bit of interesting tweaks with the cuts. Yes, last year's first-round pick, lefty Ross Detwiler, was sent to minor league camp, as was lefty Josh Smoker and veteran lefty Mike Bacsik. But right-hander Adam Carr, one of the better pitchers in the minor league system last year, was added to major league camp, as was shortstop Ian Desmond -- who has played a few games up here already because they have needed extra bodies for split-squad games.

The others who were reassigned to minor league camp: infielder William Bergolla, outfielder Roger Bernadina, right-handed pitcher Tristan Crawford, infielder Yurendell De Caster, outfielder Frank Diaz, left-handed pitcher Mike Hinckley, catcher Devin Ivany, left-handed pitcher Charlie Manning, outfielder Tommy Murphy, outfielder Jorge Padilla, infielder Antonio Perez, right-handed pitcher Ismael Ramirez and right-handed pitcher Jim Ed Warden to minor-league camp.
