Sure Nook is stupid, and should be cut......but I blame Chad just as much. He's blown 6 saves this year, only one less than his career high of 7 from 2007; but he had 54ish chances....so he's have a very bad year.
oh, I agree. I've said from the get go that Chad doesn't have closer stuff. He had a great year once, a product of pin point accuracy, and what I can only assume was a deal with the devil. One can't come in and throw low 90s fastballs with no movement and not expect what happens.
Maybe Watson might have made a play on one or both of the 9th inning singles if he hadn't been so close to the warning track. He looked like he was picking daisies on the Guttierez line drive--like he didn't get a read at all, and then he was almost as far back for Blake. (The outfield of Watson, Logan and Belliard doesn't exactly inspire my confidence, no matter who's on the mound.)
